Is the CEO still promising that your Tesla will generate a perpetual income stream for you by acting as a robotaxi while you're not using it? Or did he stop promising that in the hope that everyone will just forget?
I assume Tesla’s legal department has at this point hired a specialist who runs in, grabs Elmo’s phone, and throws it out the window every time he tries to tweet about that.

I am a very happy Tesla customer, but I have never purchased "Full Self Driving (Beta)" for any of my vehicles.
I feel like the promises that have been made about FSD and the amount of money that has been charged for it over the years could truly become the thread that the prosecutorial bureaucracy pulls on and in the end becomes a great undoing.
There are all sorts of terms and conditions in the "clickwrap", but at the end of the day they have sold a product for over $10,000 which simply does not work, and my be dangerous.
I really enjoy my Tesla(s) and I do not want the company to fail, but it feels like they have piled on the risk in this product line in order to not dissapoint the public markets, who have been sold a pretty big story about FSD.

HN has a sizable minority of Musk defenders who flag anything critical. They care more about taking down the content than others do about upvoting.
Is there a way to request fraudulent flags to be removed? I see the flag button but not an opposite.
theres a vouch button ive never used / looked for / understood when it appears. this is just how the site is tuned, to favor tuning out things it considers controversial/flamewar-like using this heuristic
Companies working on self drive have entire teams dedicated to analysing data coming off the vehicles. Of course they would've known.
Literally every mildly technical person could have told you the same. The product is insanely good, but still not comparable to a true intelligence.

Only has difficulty driving in a straight line by cars parked on the side of the street, blows through a stop sign at ~20 mph, needs to be stopped from crashing into a parked car, and needs to be stopped from crashing into oncoming traffic all in around 1 hour.
