What’s is the supposed business case for sharing raw, unmodified 42Mpix photos?
And if they are still modified later on, and perhaps re-signed, that’s where I would attack.
I think rather than looking for a Linux flavour you want to look at various companies business models and size to see if it can sustain the ongoing cost of releasing and supporting a phone, OS, security patches etc.
So far, Apple still has a pretty low % of revenue coming from ads.
I (and other) call Bs on classifying something as processed or ultra processed as inherently bad.
Baby formulas, workout premixes, and also home cooking are all forms of processed food.
It’s what you put in it and also at what ratio is what matters most.
If you get processed food that has all the good oils and fiber and proteins like YFood or Soylent that’s actually more healthy than say eating “unprocessed” fried potatoes for example.
It’s really simple- real estate is the only casino where you are almost guaranteed a leveraged payout in the long run.
So as soon as houses became an investment, the way to maximise profit is not to go for the cheapest but for the most expensive house you can afford.
Almost any beginner programming course states that algorithms are like recipes for a computer. Conversely a recipe is an algorithm meant for imperfect humans.
If a recipe isn’t code then what is ?
There’s the concept of Zones and you can measure the intensity directly with a power meter or indirectly with HR.
Anything that reaches close to your sustained max HR or max power is considered high intensity as it uses different energy systems to produce muscle energy
And yes there’s overwhelming research that for a non pro athlete you should only do one or two high intensity workouts per week (and pad with low intensity sessions to get enough training time)
Fat oxidation only ramps up once you depleted your glycogen stores. That usually happens an hour into an exercise or so.
So doing short hiit session does not directly burn fat but does ramp up your metabolism for the rest of the day.
Most people here are dunking on this specific industry not paying enough for skilled labour but the problem is more generic- that’s how we build the society around capitalism and we still seem to value capital more than labour.
A lot of the friction in the banks is for legal reasons - they HAVE to abide by certain protocols.
If you treat that as an extra challenge rather than a hindrance it will be more rewarding.
I actually agree that hiking too high is a very poor policy choice for a number of reasons but for your example of fuel, if you kill the demand for it, the price will not skyrocket. On the other hand, however this would also mean that the economy as a whole is dead so again not the best policy choice (but it is likely to rein in inflation)
I had a look and it looks like everything is upgraded- the chassis, the motherboard etc.
So if you wanted to take advantage of all of the improvements you’d need to buy them all. At which point it might be less materially wasteful to but another, less recyclable laptop that uses fewer parts ?
It could also be a simple user error- there’s been stories on HN on how people racked up massive bills for example because CI was running continuously etc.
