I had covid 7 or 8 times lol. Basically 2-3 times a year from Jan 2022 until spring of 2025. Luckily there have been seemingly no long-term effects for me, and it's been over a year since I last tested positive.
This article is absolutely infuriating and so many of the people included should be deeply ashamed of their behavior (as described). I understand that the people at the hospital are in danger of legal retribution so for many of them their cowardice is excusable. But the examples of the hospital CEO making empty promises without actually doing anything, and the hospital refusing to foot the $5,000 bill to transfer the patient to a location that would actually care for her are morally disgusting. The lawmakers that intentionally created this grey area though are the true villains for willingly gambling with women's lives to score political capital.
I don't know if you saw the "Kamela is for the/them" ads, but they stoke a much more general fear and hatred of trans people than the issues you are referring to. Those issues are picked because they are most popular amongst a broad swathe of the electorate, but they are couched in a deeper hate and distrust.
I'd bet a substantial amount that nobody is learning that Everest exists from this article.
I agree that the current state of Everest is an embarrassment. But that doesn't change the fact that it's the tallest mountain in the world, and the efforts (both successful and failed) to be the first to summit were audacious and inspiring to many people. Stories like the one in the OP should not be suppressed just because decades later the mountain has turned into a pile of shit.
And that's why no murders are ever committed, because the possibility of jail time or capital punishment dissuades anyone who would consider committing murder.
