I'm so confused because if I understand correctly the employees of the company were not given board positions or any sort of ownership over the means of production, which would be socialism. We live in a capitalist economic system, and using the tools that capitalism provides the government stepped in using capitalist tools to fix the problem. This isn't socialism, this is capitalism protecting itself from failing.
There should no longer be tax-exempt status for religious organizations that have committed so many violations for so many years. In fact I think there should be stipulations if you want to be tax exempt, like you have to have all of your finances be public so the people who give to your organization know exactly where the money is going.
Exactly what I’m saying, Libs of TikTok has been using their followers to direct hate and violence towards the LGBTQ+ community and as a result they’ve put children’s lives in danger by shutting down hospitals. Twitter’s advertisers don’t want to be associated with such hateful conduct. I’m glad we agree.
If the political bias you’re seeing is “far-left” then you’re very far to the right. Advertisers don’t want to advertise on a website that is being used to direct hate and violence towards the LGBTQ+ community, advertisers are the main source of revenue for Twitter, thus content directing hate and violence towards the LGBTQ+ community are moderated. Similar arguments could be made for other ways in which Twitter was moderating their content. Those are decisions to boost revenue and to make Twitter a safer place for people to hang out, I don’t see how those are “far left” biased decisions. If employees were pushing a “far left” agenda I’d expect to see every conservative shadow banned, instead conservatives were protected (ex. Libs of TikTok not being kicked off). Last year Twitter even admitted to boosting conservative content in order to try to appease conservatives claiming a bias [0]. Im sorry but I just don’t see anything that proves there was a “systemic far left political bias” at Twitter. If anything I’m seeing a far-right systemic bias growing at Twitter with Elon at the helm.
These “Twitter Files” have been so disappointing. I was really expecting to see some crazy stuff, but all I’m seeing is a company that was moderating their content. Even the incident that Weiss points out of someone being doxxed and Twitter doing nothing about it happened under Elon’s rule, and was probably not moderated because of the chaos that Elon created. Even the people that were “shadow banned” makes sense, I’m actually surprised that they didn’t moderate accounts like Libs of TikTok even more considering that they’re actively shutting down children’s hospitals and directing hate and violence towards transsexual people. All in all, a big nothingburger.
I wish the NRLB would be much harsher against business owners and executives who engage in anti-union rhetoric and behaviors. People have the right to form unions, lying about losing benefits and lowering pay should be handled much more harshly, there should be actual penalties instead of just having to read a statement and delete a tweet.
Lots of talk here in the comments about supply and demand, cool, I get it. But how about we worry about that after everyone has access to a stable shelter that they can live in. Housing should be a human right, nobody deserves to live on the streets or have to fork over all their money in order to be housed and have to worry about putting food on the table. The obsession with investments, wealth, and power is leading to people suffering. So how about we stop obsessing about investments, wealth, and power until everyone can live their life with dignity and not have to worry if they'll have to sleep in the gutter or not.

The US always has to propagandize news from China since they are an economic rival. Did they run the headline “America achieves quantum supremacy” when Google supposedly achieved quantum supremacy? Nope.
If you haven’t already read The Communist Manifesto I highly recommend that you do, it’s super short and easy to understand. Even if you’re an anti-communist you should read it to get a better understanding of what communism is. There has been so much anti-communist and anti-socialist propaganda for decades in the US that many people don’t even know the first thing about communism and socialism and will just shut their minds to any possibility that maybe communists and socialists are advocating for good, just, and equitable things.
