Any tips for buying used gear? I purchased three consecutive Nikon FEs off of eBay, and each one arrived with a different mechanical issue. I was lucky enough to be covered by return policies in those cases, but I'm hesitant to purchase again.
What was so painful about it? Unless you're making some really significant changes to your models, Django's migration commands handle 99.9% of cases including most common edge cases. I can't imagine it being any easier, and certainly haven't seen any other web frameworks handling migrations any better.
I'm sure there are all sorts of negotiations and esoteric adjustments going on behind the scenes - $45k was the total of the itemized invoice sent to my insurance company. I'm unsure exactly of how much it will cost me out-of-pocket, but I'm expecting $3-4k.
