I suppose I'm not the only one wondering whether this could replace Calibre for me. Most features seem to be there, but will it allow me to sync ebooks to my Kobo device?
I didn't realize that Newsboat has Miniflux support! That means you can read your feeds from the console and keep everything in sync with the web interface or any other client software. I will try this out later.
You may also be interested in OpenAlex.org which also uses wikidata (along with DOIs, ORCIDs, ISSNs and a few other standard identifiers) to classify publications.
This publication was started by Nathan Jurgenson, an American sociologist who was hired by Snapchat out of grad school as a sort of resident theorist. (He was a student of George Ritzer, of "McDonaldization" fame, and applied a similar conceptual framework to digital media, "playbor" etc. Jurgenson also cofounded a conference called Theorizing the Web that in its later years received funding from Snapchat.)
