I think most people forget the most important aspect of calendars: farming.

Harvest and plant cycles are stable in this "sun oriented" calendar design.

Every year x type of seed is planted in the same month, and harvested in another. So every year, same months can be planned beforehand.

Another reason for increasing gas demand might be related to global drought.

I'm from Turkey and last year the energy production was 30% from hydro electric, 20% from natural gas conversion.

This year, there is a severe drought here and the ratios swapped, 30% nat gas vs less than 20% hydro.

Maybe other countries have similar problem, especially in Asia, so that may explain the demand.

There is also the case of "liability". An average driver can drive the car into a tree with no problems at all. No one except the driver is responsible there.

But if a company sells a product with the name "Autonomous Driver", than that company is liable if the product mulfunctions (ie. drives a car into a tree).

I think the previous comment refers to player (human) balance. Not in game unit balance.

You know Elo rating, as in chess? Something like that is needed in order to match players against each other.

An online multi-player game that fails the matchmaker system, will lose players eventually. Because if you match the newcomers with seasoned pros, everyone will be unhappy and churn rates will be high.

Me too. Maybe this can be solved by updating the title as "Franz Kafka in Pieces".

I know, respecting the original title is a nice thing. On the other hand, HN is a tech oriented web site and +90% of the times if there is a Kafka in the title it is related to the stream processing framework, not the writer. So, just writing the writer's full name (in those rare occurances where the writer is mentioned here in this news site) can solve that tiny problem.

Those are my two cents...

I think the main issue here is: budget.

Lebanon is in severe economic crisis. And that effects everything, especially government spending.

You say, "a demo expert should oversee storage of these stuff appropriately", well that means hiring an expert. Or "use a professional repair crew"; that means protective gear, removal of explosives around, special cold-welding equipment; and all these require budget.

Hiring 2 immigrant welders for a week = 200 dollars (and I’m being extremely generous here). Versus taking all the security measures and use protective gear to do things right = 20.000 dollars.

I believe there are more and more bad things on the way for Lebanon. A major electricity outage, or a leak in a chemical plant, or a bridge collapsing... All due to maintenance problems, might be just around the corner.

A small note (though it may be unrelated), some ip address ranges are not accessible from Vodafone TR (3G/4G) connections.

216.239.36.219 <- For example this address returns "HTTP 504" from Vodafone. There are some other addresses like this which happen to be around, randomly.

So it may be a misconfiguration on Vodafone TR Network, routers or such thing. Sample curl output below.
