Yes, we will be releasing our product (packaged in the platform) and then allow developers to add their apps to the platform too. We are even thinking of open sourcing our app to make it easier for developers.
I think the closest thing right now is Chromecast. But I think they are focussed on screen sharing to your TV, while we want to connect all your devices.
If anyone wants to meetup the day before/after the event to discuss ideas/hear about my startup let me know. I am always excited to meet new people, listen to their ideas an give/get feedback.
This would be work great as a university course. New grads usually don't know a lot about designing and building a production system and this can certainly be a lot of help.

I think these are fair points. My only question to Moskovitz why did he start Facebook/Asana when similar products did existed? He could have helped Myspace instead.

If it's just affiliate revenue there is no way, the company had $5 million dollars in cash. He couldn't have sold shares since he said he has "total 100% ownership" of the company. He also mentions he never got a loan or an investment. Maybe it's just a missed business opportunity.
