I think you're right, except for the last line "unnecessarily so." I haven't seen any ecommerce builder do a better of this- I still think Shopify is leading the way on this (which means that it may just be a really tough problem).
Jesus Christ. This string of comments is awful. Why would Jennifer take this amount of time to pull the wool over your eyes? It's pretty obvious she has started from scratch.
Find that hard to believe? You probably just don't know how to push yourself through learning something quickly.
I run sitebuilderreport.com (basically I review website builders) and I think there's enough website builders marketing themselves as the best way to build "any" website. Weebly, Webs, Wix et al. They've done a good job of solving that problem.
A website builder that creates a specific type of a website makes for a compelling option!
BTW - Another interesting option in this space is onepagerapp.com (similar concept- different approach).
Huh. Has not been my experience. Huge fan of Apple but as someone who doesn't have data on my phone, I can't tell you how many times I got screwed by their offline caching (something I never had trouble with the old GMaps)
Oh man. What's with all the conspiracy nonsense? 37 Signals have been nothing but transparent through this entire process. Hopefully these HN comments are not an accurate sample of what most people are thinking.
