Is lock/unlock going to use some kind of OTP, or would the same communication happen over BT everytime? Just thinking about how easily this could be cracked by malicious people near you and your bike.
Lack of support for Linux is a consequence of not being a webapp, and that is what I really don't like (even if this was supported on Linux, OpenBSD and Solaris). Is expecting that Google can deliver cutting edge web-based apps really weird?
That wouldn't prevent them to build a social network around you, just like Facebook does ("ghost profiles" or whatever they are called these days). Those emails are just spam.
Ironically, yesterday I deleted my Linkedin account, just because it is totally useless for me and for 101% of those in my circles (or network or how you want to call it), except for a sense of doing the right thing and being professional in their social networking.
Not to mention their dubious approach to password management, of course.
Re: other global "observers", I think most of us are assuming that the NSA is the most capable and powerful among them. While in general this may be true, I wonder how much we don't know we don't know about other agencies.
One thing I don't entirely understand is whether having an EU-based server provided by an US company (Rackspace, AWS, Digital Ocean, you name it) makes any difference at all.
