Yes exactly. But from a political standpoint you make it all about the cops and their safety. Anything that suggests the cops need monitoring is going to be fought hard. Cameras will already be fought ridiculously hard for obvious reasons, but if you pose it as a matter of maintaining the officer's safety, it has a better chance.

Smalltalk offers things similar to Ruby, in a much more attractive package (imo). The language is smaller and more consistent. That's good enough for me.

Skipping BDD is a great idea for speed when you exit three days after founding the startup. If you go beyond that, you're going to be glad you used that basic engineering discipline
