Thanks for the feedback. I do agree with everything you said (if you see my comment below about the same thing). The entire theme/design needs a lot of refactoring and it will be done once we get the content really rolling in.
Absolutely agree about marketing. We just got started about a week ago so the content will really start to flow in now. There's actually quite a large post about email marketing getting wrapped up right now. We plan to do in-depth guides about marketing, legal, insurance, technology, and everything in between. If there's anything specific you'd like to see covered, just let us know and we'll do the research.
I do agree about the design. I'm not crazy about it and do think the home page especially is a little over-the-top. I wanted to change it drastically but wanted to just get online asap. We'll certainly take your feedback into consideration when we start to refactor the UI.
I must say that the first thing I think of when seeing your domain is "Shoplifting"; which isn't good.
Landing page is way too uninformative (especially the visible-portion). I don't really have a good idea what this does exactly (and I still don't after reading).
Is it basically bookmarking product pages? I sort of understand the pain-point you're trying to solve with this. I'm just not sure that people will want to sign-up with a service to organize things they may want to buy; I could be wrong.
I'd recommend having the page just open to the app itself, rather than an image and a login. Let me use it then tell me to create an account to save.
Very cool idea. I recently spent quite a while paging through HNSearch.com looking for book recommendations.
My recommendation would be to make sure the "Next" button never moves. Some really long titles cause it to get pushed down a bit and that gets annoying when you're clicking on "Next" at a fast rate.
I also agree there needs to be a little more information on the page because of the sometimes-indirect post titles. I find myself hovering the Amazon link to see the name of the book.
