As a climber, I don't think it's comparable. The death rate among notorious soloists (as compared to rate among people who bike in traffic every day) agrees here.
Each bad move on a solo is death. For driving, biking in traffic, it has to be a series of bad circumstances to mean death.
I agree to the gist - there is incomparably better selection on iOS.
I recently switched to Android and really can't wait for decent games to come to the Market. By decent I mean stuff like Broken Sword, or any of the other ports of A-quality old games. The new ones from premium publishers seem to be too much oriented to 3D, polish and no playablity :(
I think it's before long, provided the market position Android has in the US. The start was slow, but once the paid model is proven on Android, we'll get it all :)
I watched a movie[1] about exploring some (huge!) caverns in Venezuela and IIRC they used many strategically positioned remotely controlled charges/flares. The guy was cavern-photographer and it seemed to be the standard way of doing it.
Thanks I saw this one, but I was leaning more towards getting opinions from the audience that I respect, that is here :) Plus lots of startup people here, too.
