Working with consultants for years and that’s exactly the playbook, project might not even launch after 2 years of deadlines while status is yellow or green and never red.
The search code in repo is unreliable, so often it doesn’t show all occurrences of search term in code base, I always end up cloning and searching locally.
Thinking that other corporates won’t use your data is surprisingly naïve!
Apple use privacy as a brand value and not because the company or shareholders really cares, if there business dry out, you think they won’t use your data. same goes for all corporates.
I find it most important is you get best service no matter what company is / I wouldn’t mind if company use my data to give me and Other users better service and benefit in the process!
You would do the same if you build your own product!
Last few years developers grew a weird attitude towards work and it's really strange.
When you work for someone or with someone, you get paid to do your job that includes mainly _writing_code_ and maybe _product_decisions_ and _business_thinking_, etc.., but first don't hate doing your job!
I will ask the author,
If you started a business, what would you do? wouldn't you do everything you mentioned there? this one sided-view articles are not interesting views IMO.
Reminds of Visual Basic, seriously nothing is even close to an invention there. It has been forever since Apple development experience is the most crappy and unproductive of all other languages.
The least they should do is replacing this shit Xcode, and allowing other company to build better IDE and language tooling for swift or whatever.
