This was my experience too with a 6s. Even with a brand new battery I'd get maybe 3 hours of use out of my phone (and I'm a pretty light user) and furthermore it would often shut down registering as much as 30% remaining. I bit the bullet and upgraded to a new iPhone 11 a few months ago, and I now regularly end the day with 70% battery life, with no change to my phone habits.
So, at least anecdotally, there's more to the story here....
Interesting app! It seems like a lot to remember to put your phone under the covers and make sure it doesn't fall off in the middle of the night (at least for me). Additionally, I've always loved having the phone in the dock next to my bed, since it doubles as a clock for me in the middle of the night.
Do you know if the Sleepcycle app is able to differentiate between your movements and someone else's? It seems like this wouldn't be possible?
This is obviously a totally different price point, but it seems like bringing a hardware-based solution here does offer some real and very tangible benefits.
I wish that was the case for me. I get up around 5:30 every morning, and without something to rouse me I'd sleep far longer and miss out on some of the most productive time of my day.
The thought of having something to wake me me if I'm stirring between 5:15-5:45, for example, seems like a great concept, as I know at least half of the time my alarm clock goes off I'm in a dead sleep and it really is a lousy way to start the day...
Anyway, +1 $79 from my end. Here's hoping there are enough of us!
They should consider selling accessory units that plug into the wall and monitor the temperature of a specific spot in the house, syncing with the master control via wifi (instead of only reading temperature/motion in the one place the thermostat is installed).
I'm thinking of a corner in our house that is always cold -- if it detects I'm there, crank up the heat so it is comfortable in that location. When I leave, do the same for the next spot, or revert back to the "master control" unit. I'm not sure how much money this would save, but it would certainly be a valuable feature I'd pay for, and it would knock the socks off what any normal thermostat could do.
So, at least anecdotally, there's more to the story here....
