A neat idea, but I'm against hiding the underlying regular expressions from a user. They're such a powerful tool, anyone using them for matching or extraction should read up on them. That said, for simple use this is cool and probably something that would appeal to beginners.
This is a really terrible article. "iOS 6 is a disaster, but it's not just maps.. it's also maps and maps and maps". Seriously? The contents of this article constitutes a "disaster"?
Looks like I've lost all the command line tools. Trying to install them via Xcode 4.4 results in telling me I don't have the appropriate permissions to download them (I have an Apple Developer account but I'm not signed up to any programs).
This of course breaks homebrew installs (I found the issue when trying to run an application that uses image magick).
I think the new UI. One thing I have noticed, though, is that my 'stream' is displaying posts from all sorts of people I have no idea about, not just people in my circles. A little confused with that, the only option I have is to select individual circles.
Great update, I love the line-by-line committing. One thing that would sell me on this app, though, is having an interface for repo issues. Without that, this is more of a "Git for mac" than a "GitHub for mac", in my opinion.
Whilst that might be an interesting idea, it would probably drive people away from focusing on great content. "Ooo I want comments and I'm only two blog posts away!"
I agree this is an issue, and one I've come across a couple of times. I use 1Password for OS X and iOS. I have the database synced with my Dropbox and backed up locally too. I have two strong passwords that I remember. One is to open up 1Password, and the other is for my personal email address. Now's the time people start yelling at me telling me I should use 1Password for my personal email login too, but that proved, many times, extremely inconvenient.
I use the Chrome and Safari 1Password extensions for 1-click logins, and it's a setup I'm extremely happy with. On the few occasions I've needed to access an account without access to my 1Password, I've reset my password via my personal email address and changed the password when I next have access to 1Password. I'm not going to pretend password managers solve all problems, but they certainly help.
Interesting. I'm running iOS5 beta3, and when I attempt to hit the Stream, the app dies. Does this happen for anyone else? EDIT: Also when I click on someones profile in the 'cirlces' list.
I can't really give any impressions on the app without these things working, but viewing photos and photo comments feels nice and responsive.
A nice writeup. I think the title is a little misleading though. The 'programmer' part was telling me that there would be a few more specifics on some of the smaller details. I'm really looking forward to checking out Google+ though. This review, like many, only makes me want to get my hands on it sooner

I can't see that they've done any of this. They've been pretty polite about the whole thing. At least that's what the article says. The fact they mention that their terms give them the right to deny users access to their service at any time doesn't mean they're threatening. It's just a reminder.
They're said the DMCA was a mistake and they hold their hands up to that. Aside from that, I can't see how they've done anything wrong. OK so asking the author to remove it from 3rd party sites is a bit cheeky, but that's all they did.. ask. I would have asked too, the author didn't have to. He clearly didn't want any trouble.
Imo Dropbox should have just fixed then, and sat there and laughed when people tried to use Dropship and it not work. It would have saved 'Dropbox attempts to kill open source project' and may have even caused for 'Dropbox fixes file hashing issue x days after open source project built to exploit it'. That way, both win. But that's just my 2 cents
