You’re not wrong, but that bias is not stemming out of Racism imo. Also I’m not saying that the bias is acceptable, but it shows a different kind of social problem that often transcends classes and gender.
While this is true in broad strokes, I think money fails to capture non quantifiable quality of life improvements. Hacker culture being close to the users could solve them, but being driven by money would definitely hinder that development
With only a little bit of effort you can prevent them from becoming obsolete. Most straightforward way is to just reprogram the nfc chip. Alternatively, Just add a redirector, one that maps show names/ids to the urls.
Tangential - your last line made me think about what "Fare well" means. Weird that I come across it so often, but never stopped to think what it means. :)
As a YTMusic user, it's not much better, (probably worse with multiple uploads of the same song by regular people) but it doesn't happen often enough to be annoying to me.
One insight is — characters remain the same when they move into a diagonal position. So if you want F, e.g., look for Fs on the diagonal, or Es 1 unit dist. Left/above from the diagonal or Gs 1 unit dist. To the right, etc.
Sadly "sensitivity" has been over done. It's a fine line and corporations would rather cross it for legal/social reasons. Similar to how too much political correctness will hamper the society, so does the overly done sensitivity in an agent, be it a human, or AI.
Fwiw, I agree w you. I think business incentives are sometimes misaligned w what is holistically good for a society. Just because what is good for society cannot be clearly defined, all effort to do so must not be given up. For instance Laws punishing google when ranking CP high will def bring a change in Google's attitude towards dealing with this stuff.
Anthropomorphic intuition has its advantages - it cuts down the ideas search space with its learnt heuristics. We are intuitive beings, and system 2 thinking is very deliberate and not so natural to us. Secondly, it might often be intractable to process things with sys2 thinking. That said, I don’t think anthropomorphic intuition is necessarily static; I can learn new intuitive skills with enough practice - for example, a person grown in a tribe with very rudimentary speech cannot intuit how to communicate even mildly non-simple ideas, but I can do half a decent job very intuitively.
And finally I think even if you don’t care for intuition, it cares for you. I mean, if you play with y=mx+c long enough, you’ll gain an intuition, intuitively. So, with these devices (like visualisers etc.), we’re essentially trying to gain an intuitive understanding deliberately, which I see nothing wrong with. It’s just meta intuition.
