With my luck, this would have been a story from my life! But as I always say, there are no "should have's" in life; there are "did do" and "didn't do". Life is too unpredictable to think "what if". It reminds me of the Matrix when Neo is in the Oracles kitchen and Neo knocks the vase over after the Oracle told him "Don't worry about the vase." Neo obviously confused says "How did you know I would break it?" and she finishes with "What really is going to bake your noodle is would you have still broken it had I not said anything?" No point in wasting energy on things that never happened.

Now does this mean that iPhones can be hacked? The government has said that in the vast majority of cases it will disclose security vulnerabilities, though in a small handful it doesn't. It would be good for everyone’s security if they disclosed, but they probably won’t

I completely understand why Apple is not backing down on this. Even if this backdoor is for one phone, the possibility of having that backdoor stolen is too great a risk to produce. When looking at the big picture, Apple is looking at the side effects this backdoor could produce and doesn't want to take the risk. I can hardly blame them either!

Finally! I've spent the last month or so on Docker to learn about it as I am somewhat new in this environment. I'm just excited to try it out and have a more broad range of tools.

My first internship used Google Drive for their database (small start up) and there have been numerous times where I have almost lost a substantial amount of work/information. This article brought back that feeling of anxiety. But that is a lesson to be learned, even if it was the hard way. Everyone goes through that at some point in their career.

You gotta challenge yourself. If you don’t, complacency sets in. And bad things happen when you become complacent.

Unfortunately, I believe that this is the case. GitHub was once a great place where signing up was your choice but it looks like GitHub has fallen prey to the "We need to get more signups" fad that a lot of companies are following.

I find it hard to believe that the All Writs Act can still be used/relevant in today's society. The All Writs Act was created in the 18th century when the technology was nearly nothing. How can we reference this act when technology has changed exponentially? If the FBI can force Apple to build a key, you can be sure authoritarian regimes like China and Russia will turn around and force Apple to hand it over to them .... And who knows what happens next, they could use that key to oppress their own people.

I have yet to drive a "self-driving" or even "self-monitoring" car and the thought of doing so terrifies me. I know technology is good and it can do great things, but helping me drive is something I don't enjoy the idea of. What happens if, however unlikely, someone were to hack my car? They could potentially crash my car and leave without a trace. I think we really need to take a step back and ask if the benefits outweigh the potential costs/risks.

After reading this article, news about this scares me. What happens when we leave a governments power unchecked? There have been too many times throughout history where unchecked power can lead to disastrous consequences. We need our voices to be heard, not silenced by the government.

I completely agree. There is no way to keep our population in check. After all, it is the natural life cycle. Order would be unbalanced.

I find this to be really inspiring that despite how much Apple is rivals with other tech giants, they can still band together and back up their competition. Microsoft and others could have turned the other cheek and talked about how selfish Apple was, but then didn't. They banded together and stood behind Apple's decision. Really powerful message.
