I'm from the Netherlands so my rountine is;
Wake up, check mail and HN/reddit/businessinsider/TC/Mashable, shower, make sandwiches for lunch, get on the tram. Upon arriving boot up pc, respond to work mails, grab coffee and the day starts.
With that $41m they got, not a whole has been achieved thus far. What is the problem they are trying to solve with this?
I mean, cool a broadcasting tool that i.e. Qik.com or Justin.tv already provides. It drains you battery, it drains you data plan. Unless you use WiFi, but other than that it is not really a app that will get you far.
When I go on vacation I use it for the peace and not to show my pleasurable moments with my friends. When I go to a concert, I go there for myself and not my friends.
Plus the quality that gets pushed out is so bad, especially sound, it is better for them to wait for a Youtube upload than see and hear it from my crappy lit phone with bad microphone.
Just like others say, quit using the word pivot. And the website could use a video explaining, because reading it her e in a comment, MAKES ZERO SENSE!
We potentially can run out of space, the same way we run out of Oil etc.
But we can go into deeps. The ground is an awesome solution for storing data and building data centers.
Its great for cooling, but bad when the earth does bad stuff.
Remember you are not making the checklist only for you. If you work for a company they need to have prove that the checks have been done correctly. This is a form of auditing.
Also, if you reduce the text on that list then you have a checklist. So basically you generate 2 separate documents. One is the checklist, other one explains it.
OWASP is an awesome project. If you really want to be secure use that as a guideline! Thanks for reminding me of that. I couldn't figure the name. All I could think of was WebScarab...
I had a quick interaction with Lon on TC about the situation.
To me is sounds like "Sam" is doing this for personal gain. It feels like promoting, marketing. Because in all the posts about this, referrals are thrown to his business and his brothers. Which to me is wrong in the first place, as it was about the card not their damn business.
Secondly, it was theft wasn't it? The card wasn't his, it was a good that was lend to him. In this case not only him but severals others as well. It was lend in a leap of faith, no matter it was an experiment or it wasn't. It wasn't lend to be stolen from.
If everyone steals something they lend, the world would be an even shittier place. Because if that was the case, I am going to try and borrow a car.
So it was illegal in the first place.
Second place he used script to monitor the card and its movements. Which is illegal unless he had a wiretap approved.
Third, he was not the owner so he committed theft.
Fourth, if it was for charity - USE YOUR OWN GODDAMN POCKETS! You sold a business in the past to Facebook, you have more then enough to go buy.
Or am I seeing this all wrong? Could be, as I am far too young to maybe see the greater good.
Not to be a total dick, but I hope that those phone numbers are disconnected because the smart ass who made the article failed on blurring out the numbers correctly...
More importantly: Entrepreneur receives data from people voting.
You are signing up with Facebook Connect in order to vote. Which means he will receive more data to add to his companies database. I think this kid is to smart of HBS! He is outplaying everyone who is voting and not realizing that they are providing him datasets.
This might be an odd location... But is there anyone hiring an Information Security Manager (or junior position)?
A lot of the businesses on here only focus on developing and pushing. I have yet to find one that provides that.
If there is a business with H1B, please let me know! I am currently looking for one.
Down vote if you don't think this is the right location. Could always open a new one.
