This exists already. 18650 is in widespread use and now 2170 is gaining traction. Each cell is already a standard voltage, 4.2V at the top end, 2.75V on the bottom end (or lower depending on whether you want to risk permanent damage).

Err, my Z3 didn't get Marshmallow until more than half a year passed from the release date.
Marshmallow was released in late October 2015 [1]. Meanwhile, the Z3 only just started rolling in early April 2016 [2]. That's pretty mediocre if you ask me.

What you contribute and the quality of what you contribute defines the respect and influence you receive as a result (in a given community, of course). I don't see how that can be tied into "normal" social statuses as this author is trying to imply.
