I'm sure your colleague has done this already, but for anyone considering creating their own models, I would highly recommend checking whether somebody else already went through that process for you. A lot of things have been fitted into gridfinity. And even if not for gridfinity specifically, you can fairly easily adapt other existing models to a gridfinity based box.
There are 3d model search engines where I recommend just entering [item name] + gridfinity to find pre existing models. There is: yeggi.com and thangs.com (be aware that the latter recently changed to only display models from its own domain by default).
That would be very interesting indeed! Knowing nothing about actual game development, I always imagine games must have the worst spaghetti code imaginable. They are an artistic product with a shelf life of at most a couple of years. Once it gets running, the quality of the code must have a priority below almost anything else.
It's probably different these days with much lrger teams and engines like Unreal, but still.

Decades later I know it is just part of the song, but hearing it still leaves me stopped in my tracks wondering whether I was just called.
Just to be clear: PII is not the same as personal data as defined by the GDPR. The latter is generally much stricter as it also includes indirect data. Data which would be anonymous by itself but in a collection uniquely links to a single person would still be considered personal data under the GDPR.
I truly mourn the loss of purchasable apps. I don't even bother with downloading the 'trial' versions anymore, because I already know I will never subscribe anyway.
Are these types of pricing models aimed at professional users? I just can't fathom having to pay a monthly fee to be able to additionally invest my private time for some slightly increased utility in my life.
The barrier to use these kind of apps these days is just too high. Its no longer possible to buy this on a whim and use it now or in five years or whenever. Simply using such an app now feels like a work project, because I feel like I have to carefully plan for how long I will need such an app and that I must truly commit in order to reach this time frame. I can no longer have a casual hobby in which I just decide to use this tool for a bit and finish the project in 3 weeks or 3 years, depending on how I feel.
/Sorry for the rant. I'm just disappointed because this looks up my alley.
I set this up in ledger, making use of virtual accounts and automatic transactions. Automatic transactions trigger on a certain rule, so I have them setup to Income:Salary transactions and most of my Expense accounts.
This way, every time I receive salary, a fixed amount of my Income:Salary is (virtually) is debited to the virtual account "Clothing". In turn, whenever I make an expense in "Expense:Clothing", the amount is credited from the virtual "Clothing" account with an automatic transaction.
The way ledger keeps track of virtual and real accounts means that I can both see the (accurate) real balance of my checking account, as well as the virtual balance of my Budget accounts.
You do have to set this all up manually however, and it's... complicated. I really like ledger because it lets me setup things this way, but it's not something I'd recommend to others.
