It was doing its best on automatic but the wipers were sporadic at best. This was a major winter storm and visibility was awful …the model 3 had no idea where the lane lines were and apparently no idea how bad the precipitation was.
Wonderful. I recently rented a model 3 and found it incredibly frustrating that it required multiple touches to adjust settings that would be a single button press on a more traditional car. Don’t even get me started on the windshield wipers - a total nightmare in winter storms and located on the left stalk? These are safety concerns. As long as humans are operating these dangerous vehicles, I vote for fewer driver distractions.
How timely. I was almost hit by a Tesla while on a run yesterday in San Francisco. The driver was not paying attention at all, slowly rolling through a stop sign. While this is one data point and could happen with any type of automobile, this type of behavior in "autonomous" cars worries me a lot - the carelessness other posters have noted in which these drivers put down their guard and think the car is going to do everything for them. They put their full faith in this nascent technology and therefore put others' safety at risk. Sure, I am very excited for this technology to mature, but in the meantime, let's not fool ourselves.

100% agree with the article - cars, even in this petite form factor, are not the future of urban transportation. Cycling, electric cycling, scooting, walking and better mass transit will make our cities quieter, safer and more livable. Sure, there is a niche for these cute cars for those unable to use these other forms.
Also on Kaiser... they make you jump through hoops to get consistent mental health (regular weekly therapy). If you're persistent enough (call and be very direct about the kind of care you want) they'll hook you up with Magellan Health, the company they outsource to for mental health. Through Magellan, I was given a huge array of therapists to choose from in the Bay Area. If you shop around you can find someone you click with.

This. Makes all those delicious-looking icons (mimicking fruits?) less appealing. P.S. only iPhone X with OLED will save battery with grayscale. iPhone 8 or less without OLED can use MORE battery afaik but I still do it. You can set up triple tap on the home button to toggle.
I think access to water resources has always been part, if not the bulk, of modern China's Tibet play. And now they're starting to tap into those resources. I wonder what the effects will be once they start pumping / rain-making at an even more massive scale.
