I don't think so... but it's an interesting question. As you can see from the recent experience of SF in the article, it's clear that they city is using fines to fill it's coffers.

I don't think it is an issue, plus I'm not sure if it's accurate. Setting aside the automobile industry there are still some extremely successful manufacturing companies in the US.

Precisely, there has been a habit amongst commentators during period's of recession to trot out the need for protectionism. During the 1980s Japan was the biggest threat, leading to all sorts of political pronouncements and movements, and now it's China.
That's a good idea. I regularly see people just dropping stuff they don't want to do. One could just create a simple algorithm to work through say a client services team.
Most people will keep to-do lists, many people use paper lists. The reason why so few have been successful or broadly adopted is because they don't cross the email/task/project problem.
Not all task managers are built the same, but the need a solution is ubiquitous.
the biggest thing for me that basecamp is missing is email. I would want to have a direct integration into my email, so I can set tasks and organize projects directly from there. I think the likes of producteev and taskforceapp.com are probably on to something.
I'd need to look a little closer but if ARM's P/E is lower than Apple's (which is v.high something like 15x trailing earnings, which for a billion dollar company is high) then ARM is actually dilutive and hence value destroying, for Apple shareholders.
I think the more relevant data point is the FTSE and DOW's bad week/month, and traders desperate to find any good news.
Whether or not the deal strategically makes sense, Apple need to consider it's impact on shareholders.
I agree, it is coming up a lot. I think it's because, when I'm working; in the same way skype, IM, and email are on my desktop so should a productivity tool.
