I agree the two events are not equivalent. Nevertheless, I think the bar has to be set higher before deciding a person is not worth talking to.

Are you sure you know this? I don't know who GreenHeuristics is, perhaps his comment is in good faith, perhaps not, I don't know. But his comment wasn't a mad rant, how ever much anyone may dislike it.
A streetmap I can easily draw on top of, add links and annotations etc. and send to a friend. Downloadable mobile version too. Lots of other
potential add-ons.
A friend of mine is visiting London, a city I know well, so I wanted to give some tips for things to see: most of the existing services I found have a bad UI, lousy performance, buggy etc.

Congrats. As someone who is currently mid way through developing my first iOS app (although I've done plenty for clients) I've definitely found how hard it is to launch your own product. The beginning idea and excitement phase is great, but seeing it through to the end is hard. Right now I'm in the trenches, looking forward to coming out the other side!
