I've always dismissed collapse talk as "batshit crazy" as the author says. but he raises good points here. maybe I'm not batshit crazy enough.

This might not be a fair comparison, since Boeing also makes the ones for commercial customers, and probably overcharges them also.

People talk about MIL-SPEC like its some unattainable gold-standard. I can buy a MIL-SPEC rated Thinkpad from Lenovo for less than $600. I mean, sure, it doesn't dispense soap...

Looks like a very useful app for your own use cases, and I'm sure people will find it very helpful. Well done!

I think its a stretch to say it will "replace all AI apps". It's like saying a GUI for FFMPEG would replace all those one-click video conversion sites. There's always going to be a market for people who want the simplest way possible to do something - people who barely even know what ChatGPT is, let alone have an API-key

I also was a Picasa lover! you can still find v3.9 for download but no active development. I don't understand why someone hasn't stepped up with an alternative in the 8 years since it was canned.

I don't know if it was a Leap year bug but after midnight my wife's phone still said Feb 29th even though it should have switched over to March 30th at 00:01
