I do not. People who do not work in tech are being priced out of the area left and right. I'd like to see more startups sprout up in places like Austin, Chicago or better yet Charlotte. Better yet, start a company with remote working being the default from day 1 - makes recruiting the right talent much more straight-forward.
To better clarify, I feel this battle around the spending on NY subways is trivial compared to the fundamental infrastructure issues in other cities (for this example, Boston).
Frankly, I find the different reactions to Beirut and Paris sickening. The U.S. (media and residents) cares more about people that are 'more like them'. Too many paint the middle east with a single brush and consider it a disaster not to get upset over unless the issue involves Israel.
I think there are far too many startups that focus solely on growth/reach. Build a sustainable business: revenue and more importantly gross margin are the key metrics that need to be thought about. While vcs want fast growth, it is often not in the best interest of common stockholders to jet ahead at the paces many of these companies go.
