Group sms works great. But you or someone should take charge and summarize the conversation/plan as last a text.
My friends use group texts a lot but sometimes conversation gets out of hand and I have to read through 100 messages to find out if there were any concrete plans.
When I was making $60K, my laptop cost about $500. So did my other co-workers who made similar amount. It was exception for anyone to by $1K+ laptop and then everyone talked about how there $500 laptop was faster than that.
Absolutely not how real world works. As an online harassment victim, you may never know even know that it is happening online. But all your classmates would know.
The sites might have lies about you or they might even have your real data. Someone might post your real photos; discussing your body, your fashion sense, or whatever that makes you loser.
You are a broke college kid. Good luck finding a lawyer who would help you find anonymous posters and then sue them.
In mean time, your social life is being destroyed. Online harassment seeps into the real world. Your classmates make fun of you in your earshot. You can complain about it once or twice but school get tired of it and stop taking you seriously.
You will get depressed and sducidal unless you have a strong support system. Even then you will have poor grades, you might quit school. Your life is being ruined because people believe in black n white definition of freedom of speech.
Perhaps we should recognize that there are shades of grey. We cannot harass someone in physical world without getting kicked out of establishment or getting arrested.
Maybe we should go after platforms that let online harassment happen on their platform. After all they are profiting off your data, why shouldn't they be held responsible to police their platform better.
That is like saying schools should not punish bullies, let the victim sue the bullies.
Wow.. this is my wife right now. I feel like I cannot say anything around her because she will take it wrong way. We just watch TV and don't really talk. We may talk about paying bill or picking up groceries but nothing serious or something I really want to talk about.
To be honest, don't voluntarily give any negative information. Don't lie if someone asks directly about criminal background.
Normally, job application is filled out after hiring manager makes an offer. This where you might need to fill out any felonies. If during this phase something goes wrong, I would not hold it against you. And if someone does, you tell them you have been working for 20 years at different jobs and didn't think your felony was an issue anymore.
One of these days, I will ask someone from HR about this.
Personally, I would not care so much but I work for a big company and background check is done by HR. I only ask technical and work related questions.
HR tend to be risk averse but I cannot really say what their policies are. In my company, I have never heard of anyone who was made an offer by hiring manager, had that offer rescinded after background check.
Also if you volunteer your felony during interview and I have another strong candidate, I will probably go with them. That is because I would be afraid that HR will not allow us to go with you and we will waste everyone's time. I rather go with safer option.

Recent suicide of 9 year old because bullying had sparked debate in our office. And most agreed her bullies and parents of bullies should be charged criminally.
Never took a job with "unlimited vacation" but had interviews with a few of such companies. Right now, I get 4 weeks off with unlimited sick time.
So during interviews, I asked them about "unlimited" vacation policy and how many days they took off last year. It is almost always less than 20 days. When I asked them why they didn't take more days off and that I got 4 weeks of vacation plus a few days of sick time off. They usually make up excuses like it was unusually busy year, don't feel the need for more vacation, or it is still more than most people took off last year.
Or sometimes they are honest and say that they feel guilty asking for more time off, hard to get approval for 3rd week off, they rather have fixed number of vacation and not feel guilty about using all of it.
This is so much me. I can whip out quick scripts to do simple tasks. But really don't enjoy other dev aspects such as polishing apps to looks and behave nicer, unit tests, etc. I need to look into this. Thanks for great morning motivation!
A lot of great love stories happens at work. Recently, my wife and I were listening to Obama's Audacity of Hope and Phil Knight's Shoe Dog. Obama pestered Michelle until she agreed to go out with him. Phil Knight hired Penny when she was a student in his class cause she was cute. Then went out with her while he was her boss. They both are married to same person still. My wife thought it was so cute.
But there is so much risk involved. Personally, I never did pursue anyone at work. It is probably because I care about my career.
Also initially you think that crush is the one and you will never find anyone else as perfect as them. But then after a few months when crush is gone, and you can see all the flaws in that person and you are glad you didn't risk your job and career for them.
In Google Chrome, you have to type in the address of website you are visiting. It is a lot of different if Chrome showed content from other sites without you specifically requesting it and without showing URL of those articles.
I have seen of lot of funny or meme apps which rip content off same popular websites. I think it unfair to operator of such sites. A lot of these app will show their ads, but won't pull in ads of publisher.
