Knowing that is part of “figuring it out”. A lot of people wouldn’t expect something that harsh to be possible and/or don’t keep up with news about gas fees. A mistake that will never be repeated but a mistake most of us have done the first time.
I personally don’t think it’s Russia(I think it’s Poland).
However the theory Russia did it or rather a sect of the Russia’s power structure did it is definitely plausible.
Many hardliners in the government saw the pipeline as a tool to negotiate with the West and a way out of the full scale war many hardliners are calling for. Blowing the pipeline has backed Putin into a corner.
The moderates on the other hand see the same thing as well. This forces Putin into a corner and weakens him considerably if the war goes badly (it was/is).
The only person who didn’t want the pipeline blown up was Putin himself. His power structure all had something to gain if the pipes were blown.
Many people say “well Russia wouldn’t do that” and they’re already wrong. Russia’s motives are not singular they are plural. There are competing groups within the Kremlin that are held together by Putin, not a singular will of Russia.
Yeah if a friend send me this article I would assume we’d be laughing at how bad the author is at social interactions. It’s embarrassing reading through the story and thinking that she was the issue.
The author was throwing out huge low EQ vibes. I see this a lot especially in technical fields and it’s really aggravating as it’s never the other persons fault.
I know Square is venturing into this space if it isn’t already in it with Square e-commerce.
It seems like right now the only viable option in this space is Stripe. I’m hoping Square e-commerce can provide be the next competitor in this space with good DX.
Millions and millions of dollars, years and years, and a good SEO agency.
I’ve tried reading up in competing in competitive markets and it’s nearly impossible. I’d give up unless you have the budget and/or go for something more niche. Instead of VPNs maybe go for “The First Eco-Conscious VPN” and compete with marketing and a novel idea rather than SEO. Else you’re going to have a bad time.
No way he’d be as successful and be able to do things like this without it sadly. He definitely plays into it as well which I find funny. The community at first was a hit harsh on him for it but they know that’s how they’re able to afford everything.
Those thumbnails and clickbait titles definitely work.
To my knowledge you can use planetscale’s read replicas in different regions which the user is then routed to the closest one? I was going to use fly.io until I realized PlanetScale does this already - or do you mean writes as well?
Rather imprecise then have people confused of what it does - especially when the confusion could be fixed by a sentence.
Just have a hyper link that directions to a comparison page explaining the nuance. Even without the hyperlink I wouldn’t assume people would think it’s a 1:1 clone drop in replacement. People don’t just drop in a new tool without research and comparing it against their new tool.
That’s because that’s what sells. That’s what people want to hear. It’s dramatic.
After being in the trading community for year and years pretty much any trader will tell you it’s filled with pseudo economics and strategies that are not designed to make you smarter or earn you money but rather earn the person “selling the shovel” money. Gold bugs, perma bears, Austrian economics, and armchair experts are notably present in trading circles.
Don’t trust traders or investors on economics. Trust actual economists. I’m not an economist but I’d point to Japan as a counter example. They literally invented QE yet they could barely move the needle on inflation until the recent supply/demand shocks.
