iOS making a random app on my phone the default ‘Open with’ in Files instead of opening quickly in Preview.
Recently was trying to open images in Files and it kept opening in my Canon print app. Thought it was a glitch so I just deleted the Canon print app.
Tried opening the file again and it opened in Copilot. Figured out I had to change ‘open with’ to Preview. Copilot is still set as the default. I’m sure I can change it somewhere but why is that the default in the first place?
Totally onboard with improving driver education, however, American public transportation infrastructure needs to be improved first.
This is because the United States is very car-centric and not being able to drive can limit your opportunities greatly. I’m all for setting the bar higher to get a drivers license but there needs to be alternatives put in place first.
For example, a person who grows up in a poor neighborhood has less access to opportunities and if they can’t drive, their opportunities are vastly limited even more because of how spread out things are especially in a lot of poor neighborhoods. They would also have trouble doing things like getting groceries, picking up kids from school, etc.
Counter-service tipping is the most confusing to me. What service am I tipping for? And if I don’t tip, will my food be worse or take longer? Tipping before receiving any service or no service at all feels like bribing.
+1 ace and tate. I got my glasses there for around 160, costed extra for me cuz I needed the thinner lens. You can get cheaper glasses though depending on the style.
I grew up poor, with uneducated parents who could hardly speak English. My parents depended on me a lot. Growing up poor gave me independence and growth. Resilience learned from struggles. Opportunities to make my own decisions and mistakes. My parents couldn’t tell me what to do or give advice because they just didn’t know how to grow up and be successful in the US. So it was up to me to make my own life decisions. I’m a late bloomer, but I’ve obtained a lot of life lessons along the way.
A way I see to teach kids this lesson without the struggles of being poor is to give them some autonomy and the mental tools to push through their failures.
I had an accent because English wasn’t my first language despite being born and growing up in the US. I had to take ‘English as a second language’ courses and was bullied through school. I was also scared to talk for my first two years in elementary school.
Though my experience may be vastly outdated. And it all depends on your environment. What kind of school would your child go to? Would it be a diverse school? Are kids more exposed to things now, so that accents won’t be so much of a big deal?
Either way, I think it would benefit to try and correct your kid’s accent. It would help them with pronunciation and help others understand them better. It may help them feel more confident in speaking.
They also create blind spots for other drivers. I’ve noticed this when turning left and a huge truck or SUV is on the other side, it’s hard to tell if there’s a car coming because they’re blocking part of the view.
There’s a lot of good advice here. Though I’ve learned from doing many years in daily support that you reach a point where you just need to stop doing support. For me, that was when it took a toll on my mental health and too much effort to protect my mental health. It was when I couldn’t easily empathize with customers anymore. Killing someone with kindness works, though customer support abuse begins to take a toll no matter how much of these strategies you employ.
Thanks! I would’ve liked to see this up front before filling out a really long survey so I could see if it’s something I can budget for after the free trial.
