What you'll do all day:
Learn and manage our infrastructure and be able to report on it’s health
Provide daily reports and system updates to the engineering team
Work with configuration management tools like Chef
Document best practices and knowledge into the engineering wiki
A variety of other tasks
Requirements:
Must have 3-5 years of professional work experience
Comfortable with shell scripting basic automated tooling
Expereince working in a UNIX environment -- basic commands to sysctl tuning.
Comfortable with the following topics in a UNIX context:
forking
threads
BSD sockets
routing
firewalls, understanding the different styles and the advantages thereof
Basic knowledge of network and systems security
Able to manage hardware provisioning, networking architecture
Comfortable working with vendors both in a collaborative and a dependency context.
Capable of drawing up documentation on architecture
Ruby/Python/Perl application development experience is preferred
Chef 10.0+ experience
A provable RFC-comfortable understanding of the following protocols and services that provide them:
HTTP
DNS
SMTP
TCP and UDP
Ubuntu 10.04 and 12.04 Experience
Must be able to be on an on-call rotation of varying lengths and periods of time
What you'll do all day:
Help grow the Triggit's customer platform
Create and build scalable applications using Ruby on Rails
Tinker with projects done in Coffeescript
Work with infrastructure components (ZeroMQ, Postgres, Cassandra)
A mix of new feature developments and bug fixes
Work with a dynamic team on a variety of projects and new product features
Contribute business logic to big data projects
Requirements:
2-5 professional work experience using Ruby
Elegant programming style and ability to be an individual contributor
Very solid understanding of RDBMS (we use Postgres), SQL, and database normalization
Experience with jQuery, AJAX, HAML/SLIM, and SASS preferred
Strong Unix fundamentals and thorough understanding of HTTP and all its intricacies
A detail-oriented approach to development and an interest in developing new skills
Able to work in our San Francisco HQ

Jr. Ruby Developer - Triggit - Full time - San Francisco
You’ll be the liaison between the engineering team and internal users. This position will involve you writing Ruby code daily. We are looking for someone who has a strong technical background that wants to learn all the in(s) and out(s) of how a DSP works and to help improve engineering operations at Triggit.
What you’ll get to do all day:
Work with the engineering team to make sure that the Ruby on Rails application, the Ad server, and all internal systems are running appropriately
Work with internal users and external users to develop new features
Ensure proper monitoring and metrics are being built into the applications
Fix issues and bugs
Perform biz development research
Work on partner documentation
Respond to and handle after hour issues and be on call
Requirements:
Strong communication skills and an ability to work with various user groups
Able to quickly understand business logic and be able to translate into expected technical behavior
1-3 years of Ruby experience preferably including Rails experience, Hive experience, preferably dealing with data at scale

Desire to work in a BDD environment
