They are not trying to modify the genes of the wild population. They release a bunch of males that have this "lethal" gene, diminishing the size of the next generation. It is not a permanent solution, but it can be used during the summer to control the population size.
With Xorg on his way out, are there similar options for Wayland? I quite like being able to use xbindkeys with xautomation or xdotool in basically every Xorg WM.
I might try Wayland once there is a tiling WM that supports the Master layout (like dwm).
What count as "online"? Using the app? Does the web app also track that? I don't think this is disclosed by facebook, it would be nice to experiment to check it.
