Yeah, Archos is the main company I can think of, at least in Europe. They pretty much pioneered the portable MP3 player market years before Apple. Archos' main problem is they like to control everything and aren't that good at finishing/refining their software, which is why the whole Rockbox scene started and produced amazing firmware for the early players.
That suggests his successors weren't very good at finishing the job he started. It's only natural for governments to become more and more corrupt as decades pass. When someone like that appears on the scene and reboots the system, their work should be acknowledged and refined before the corruption kicks in again.

London is so well integrated that there's little reason to use a taxi. That's why you have to call to book one, because most people use them for unusual trips, such as going to the airport with a lot of luggage, attending an event with formal wear etc. Much cheaper and quicker to use the tube.
When reading about a city on Wikipedia etc, I can never tell how frequent public transport is, and whether it's good outside tourist areas. So thanks whackojacko and _corbett for your views.
My only real problem with Ryanair is no one wants to compete with them. They are a bit like a virus. Once fully established in an airport, their competitors scale down and move away. Worse still, if they decide to move on themselves because the airport starts charging normal rates, that airport is then in a poor position.
An alternative option would be to cram the economy class into a smaller space, so they can have more space for premium economy, business and first class seats. That would be useful for routes between London and New York where there's a big demand for business class seats.
What about people who moved from European countries, did you enjoy it? Just something I have considered, but wasn't sure. Like how does the infrastructure compare, such as public transport?
If you wrote your own framework then you could grab an area of the code like a database layer, caching system, template system. If you built code on top of an existing framework then that's more difficult, because it's higher level, more abstract and spread out.

Android's strength and weakness is that it's a commodity OS, which means phone manufacturers are falling over themselves to do their own model because it's easy and profitable.
