Very happy to see efforts like this to bring new languages as alternatives to JavaScript.
I'm sorry but no amount of spin can convince me of ever liking JavaScript. Why can't we just admit that we're stuck with it for now because there are no viable alternatives? 5 years ago, people were ragging on it just as they do on PHP now. And now all of the sudden it's the poster child for good programming? Please.
Good news indeed. I look forward to the day where we no longer have to use JavaScript. If this offends someone, sorry.. but just my opinion. I can't stand JS.
You bring up an interesting point with the "front end" comment. Do you see the future of web development as being more heavily geared towards developing Single Page Applications (In JavaScript or otherwise)? From what little I know of it, it just seems to be the way to go, going forward. But would like to hear the opinion of experts.
