I'm going down this route right now and it's definitely tough. Meetup are usually very impersonal and most people arent very willing to help out strangers.

Standing up for a long time is not good either. The key idea here is change. Stand up, sit down, move around.
Pretty much any chair will get uncomfortable if you sit in it long enough. I would just get a refurbished herman miller and take a lot of frequent breaks to stand up.
