Just plain stupid if you ask me. If you want to use LinkedIn not as it is supposed to be used (as your personal business directory) and want to impress with lots of LinkedIn connections, you can buy them: Eg. first match in Google Search has 1,000 connections for $10: http://buylinkedinconnection.com/

This will eventually get you banned by LinkedIn since it violates ToS. At first you will just get a warning (and have to re-agree to ToS to be let back in). Be careful using this hack. It's an amazing hack but will also very quickly get you in trouble.
