Hey, this seems an opportune place to ask: Any other HNers interested in food gardening?
Yes, I am a computer geek and a food gardener.
In fact, we have a hydroponic kitchen garden in our office kitchen. We grow basil, salad and chilies. Our in-house pesto always impresses our guests. We've also grown bell peppers and tomatoes but that wasn't worth the effort.
I also have a small back yard garden under progress. It's not quite growing season up here yet (60 deg northern latitude).

I am quite interested in food gardening. I am gearing up to start an experimental green house in the near future. I just bought 5 acres and hope to use solar panels to power automatic systems and data loggers. One of my nuttier ideas is to use solar powered air conditioning to expand what I can grow here in Florida.
I am - A few years ago I semi-retired from coding for start ups to start up a community farm. We do weekly veg boxes along with half-pigs, lambs, honey, eggs, goats milk, cheese and meat.
There have been threads that pop up where vegetable and fruit gardens have been discussed. Any specific topic?
I'd be interested in methods for monitoring the soil to be able to automatically add the nutrients the plant needs.
No particular topics, just wondering how large the contingent that inhabits the intersection is.
Yes. Interested in hydroponic and porch gardens.
