Furniture retailers seem to do it all the time.
If they aren't really bankrupt and this is a carefully orchestrated ruse that ends with the release of DNF, that would be so badass that I would buy a copy of the game and I don't even play computer games.
That's what I think.
3D Realms always said they were self funding, so saying Take-Two pulled the financial plug sounds a bit too odd.
Besides, 3D Realms always had their way of releasing stuff when you least expect it.
Let's hope my feeling is right...
It's illegal to have a going out of business sale if you aren't going out of business, but I don't think this would be illegal. That said, I think they really are bankrupt.
It's a fanboy rendering, done in Maya and 3DS MAX, just like the credits to the video say.
Actually, this is a demo reel of former 3D Realms artist Bryan Brewer.

yes, and pretty smart move for him to get noticed and land his next job!
According to http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=1127 these guys have been shuttered.
Has anyone actually checked for their bankruptcy filings? Is it illegal for (private?) companies to make claims of bankruptcies, if its purely for marketing purposes?
