I can't agree. The 3LA have some benefit to us (US citizens anyway), CCP has no use other than nefarious purposes. TikTok is just an extension of the CCP hoovering up data on Americans. Maybe 99.9% of that is just garbage data, but it doesn't take much data about politicians or other influential persons with a lot of power to be detrimental to a society. Digital fentanyl is a perfect title as it captures the potential deadliness, addictive properties, and potential threat, so it's actually a great title. Being that this particular social media is from an adversarial state, we should kill it off immediately. They had their chance to sever ties with china and become an American corp (or European) but they failed to do, now it's time to lower the boom on them.

Assuming that "we" here is not China and therefore "them" is China, we are simply very upset that we didn't get our kids hooked on digital fentanyl first. Especially Facebook and Snap are unhappy. Economically, of course, we'd rather retain the profits from the ad market, but that's globalization for ya.
Our own three-letter agencies such as CBP trawl the data sets our own companies sell, as well as have access to behind the scenes when needed.
What makes anyone think that the CCP doesn't just purchase all the information that our data brokers collect anyway?
That they would shape what content we see, well, they may have our interests less in their hearts than does Facebook, but we haven't seen Facebook have our interest in their hearts either.
