Well, he considers 61 his prime, so... I would consider what is young for him is relative.
He did really well as a successor!
Craig Federihgi is an obvious choice, I would think.
If you only judge by public-facing charisma rather than the work one behind the scenes. Which, for running the entire company, would involve very little of Craig’s actual expertise.
Apparently Steve Jobs was grooming Scott Forstall to be his successor so that may be the best choice.

As much as I want to see this. He was pushed out, and there are very little chance of that happening.
