Ask HN: Where do you 'stumble upon' the best things on the internet?

Back in the day, there was StumbleUpon, a website with a button that took you to a random website. This was one of the best sites I ever used, but then it was undertaken by a corporation and ruined. Similarly, I found a great deal of random things on demonoid before it got taken down and new management took over. In the past ~5 years, the number of gems I've come across has been a fraction during the golden age of services like stumbleupon and demonoid. Now, library genesis is the only source, scrolling through all new submissions to come across a book with an appealing name. But this is limited to books and not websites or anything else.

Does anyone still have a source for gems?
