started as a C programmer on DOS servers (believe it or not) The network was a token ring. Used Brief as an editor and we had some key-value database that was always getting corrupted (can't even remember the name)

I do remember liking Brief a lot though

remember vaguely reading in some book (Jared Diamond?) that at one time the poor in Ireland lived almost entirely on potatoes and milk - and that they were much healthier in general than the richer elites. Apparently those two items + some green veggies are enough.

I'd be interested in building a listening comprehension tool for foreign language learners. I'm thinking having a slider for vocab (top 1000 words, top 2000 words, etc) and a slider for speed of speech plus an adjustable timer for how long the user has to understand the sentence.
