I wonder if there is a qualitative analysis of the commits. Aka, it changed a line of comment vs it introduced a new feature or refactored and increased long term viability, etc.
I think it was expected after Musk let go of so many people and technically speaking twitter is still functioning as it was with a bunch of extra features (half baked some might be).
This is one of the primary contributors to the decision, not only the free time/etc. contribute to the higher retention but also the sense of beloning, and friendships that are made in workplaces.
The main issue with TikTok that I am very much concerned about the portray of life in a way that is not matching the reality. Aka, it changes expectations of people so much that reality looks very disappointing or dull to them and that has a lot of downsides short and long term for mental health, career growth, personal growth and one's role in the society.
I can imagine far in the future we will have multi purpose AI models generating models that are narrowed to a specific task, for example a model trained on the entire corpus of text available to humanity (legal cases/libraries/blogs/debate ToS/the trash on the internet/etc.) to generate a model that is faster and more accurate to do inference work for legal cases.
Replacing all human programmers in 5 years is a bit too far fetched even for a CEO who is trying to do fundraising.
For programming, I can imagine in 5 years we will have AI trained on massive codebases that enterprises have (+10m lines of code) and the machine would detect duplicates/crossing boundaries, etc. but to replace those who develop creative solution to problems in mere 5 years... :D
Likely true. Previously it was any attribution data that was the most valuable since advertising benefit from that. With the LLM and what comes next I imagine every bit of data, structured or unstructured, accurate or not, is going to have some value to someone somewhere.
