Is HN's story age display messed up?

I see stories on the front page that are multiple days old, as you can see if you hover on the age, but their age is still shown as just a few hours. I've tried it with multiple browsers. Is it just me?

I think that the "second chance pool" resets/obscures the date of the story and any comments attached.

I see, thanks. I'm surprised that they re-date people's comments; it seems like that could lead to misunderstandings.
