of course it is. how else are they going to increase their margins. Apple TV is a multi billion dollar dumpster fire that keeps losing money. as long as they find suckers to manipulate they will keep lobbying.

This applies to all “as a service” products. Unless you can’t provision a server and stand up open source services on your own there is no reason to use 3rd party services.
It would nice if there was terrestrial fiber map which shows fiber lines in cities and towns. Also is there is a map available that shows where active fiber connections are available by address. FIOS doesn’t have a coverage map.
