I love Mikrotik products but they are lacking what I need at home.
I need basic IPS/IDS, notification when something is wrong without writing mikrotik scripts, easy backup failover, etc not VxLAN, QinQ and BGP extensive filtering :)
I moved to Unifi Cloud Gateways as home/small soho routers and can't be happier.
But Mikrotik stays as emergency hardware backup ..
I read article and still - there is no answer why it is mostly right hand. It explain why hand specialisation took place but why right is dominant, not left ?
Google is no better here, I would say they are even worse since they are scanning your files actively. Remember story of Father who was asked by doctor to send his baby son private parts photos due to covid and Google not only locked him out but also notified Police. Even after getting statement from Law Enforcement there was no crime they didn't restore his access. Guy lost 20 years of live history due to algorithm.
It's already in use at least it automotive. If you are not working with safety critical systems (ADAS type) Rust and to some extent embassy is already in the wild. Companies like ETAS (https://www.etas.com/ww/en/) or Ferrous (https://ferrous-systems.com) are working to certify Rust and some crates (embassy is there) to be used with safety critical components. It's not question if but when it will be used. Volvo, Renault and some Chinese brands already ship cars with Rust embedded components in non safety critical path.
You have an option. Starlink. If you are not FPS player you will be really happy. There are service interruption, but they are very rare (at least for me). Just drop single ping here and there.
Kanidm made some weird decision that ruled it out in one of big organisation I try to deploy it. Separate Radius password. For telco that’s half its use cases, and there is separate random password. Whole Network engineering department was like WTF ? You can’t have single password which is one of important reasons to have SSOA.
Why on earth you choose product so expensive where dryer is basically fan with heater ?
With that price range you can buy Miele hardware with heat pump dryer that is basically non-breakable and an order of magnitude more energy efficient.
Really - I would like to know how you came to purchase decision :)
Parts are another story.
I have miele Washing Machine. It has brushed motor so after ~8 years I need to replace brushes. Miele ones cost 60$. That's 20% price of cheapest washing machine I found on market. Im' sure 40$ of that is handling those spare parts across many years.
Other, more complicated components cost more than cheap, other vendor washing machine.
This is mass problem with almost any topic you want to share.
I'm sport shooter, range officer and competition jury. You have no idea what crazy stunts YouTube do for Gun/Sport Shooting related content.
YT terms containt some weirdest restriction for things like "shown magazine capacity".
Wrong angle on video and your 10 round mag is seen by YouTube as 30 round and your video is gone.
You can show silencer disconnected from firearm, connected to firearm but showing moment you screwing it to end of barrel and your video is banned.
There are dozens rules that are so vague that if YT wants he can remove any gun related content.
This is problem YT is not willing to fix because collateral damage costs are peanuts comparing to beeing sued and loose because some real illegal content slip trough filter. I don't expect any improvement here because there is no business justification.
You were Arthur C. Clarke (geo sattelite case) of aircraft engineering ;-)
Buses are wildly used since 90's. Mostly CAN, the same one used in cars and Avionics Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX) -

Saying "bit of a shit" about company who practically destroyed 20 years of someone data,by blocking account against all facts customer and police provided it not "a bit". This is pure evil.

My current conslusion is quite often these LLM's are liars.
I've asked for some Rust async code - it provided perfecly reasonable code with some crates(libs) I was not familiar. When asked about them I've spilled my drink on an answer:
"This is imaginary crate providing async implementation for SNMP".
Crazy..
The biggest problem with LLM'are they never tell you "I don't know/there is no answer I can find" - don't know the answer - make it up :)
I'm always sceptic about range. Polish city Gdańsk made tender for electric buses. Requrement was at least 400km real range. Winner promise that and reality was ~250km. There was no chargers installed on terminal loops because it should handle whole day on single charge. That is result of designing system without actual tests and rely only on vendor promises :)
Depends on Poland location. I moved from Warsaw to coast and my air filter is gathering dust in a basement. Due to natural windy weather here air is extremely clear almost whole year including winter. And 25 degC is considered hot here instead 35 in capitol city ;-)
