Unfortunate it is still essentially impossible to share consumer GPUs with multiple virtualized hosts, which limits the utility. My dream is to build one beefy server and play old games like COD via connected thin clients
Sorry I am not saying that X technology is not important, transformative, etc.
I am saying that the average person is going to want to just have things that work. They are not going to want to have a hobby of using X technology.
It doesn't matter how much you lower the barrier to entry on making apps, websites, games, whatever. Most people are just going to want something that is ready and off-the-shelf.
I mean, why do people pick an iPhone over a cheaper Android even if they are functionally similar? Aside from the (valid) green-bubble/social aspect, it's a much more polished product.
Am I wrong in thinking you could do this with ffmpeg, your video files, and your data from Strava/Garmin/whatever? This feels like a program an LLM (or human!) could write pretty easily
Ah! I so wanted to go to the recurse center when I was between jobs, but I was too nervous to push my start date back a significant amount. I really hope I can do it one day. It sounds so awesome!
I have Claude/Codex keep logs [1]. It's just prompted in my AGENTS.md [0].
> Every session must produce one of: a session log OR a plan, and end with a written summary appended to it. Default to a log; reserve plans for substantive design work.
It's incredibly valuable. For example today I started a few sessions off like this:
- What's the status of my work on Renovate?
- I was recently working on X, find that
- Did we fix the issue with backups? What are the next steps?
- This bug came up again. Didn't we fix it already?
