Hello, my name is Piotr. I'm 26 and I just graduated with a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Warsaw (MIMUW faculty). During university I worked as an intern/junior for 5 different companies ranging from small software house to a big-tech Meta/Facebook. I worked as a Production Engineer Intern at Meta and received a full-time offer (I rejected it).
I specialize in distributed systems, networking, operating systems, and web development. For my master's thesis, I implemented MinIO object storage into the complex system with multiple services and databases.
I have a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures. For 8 years I was involved in coding competitions as a participant, organizer and tutor.
Now I want to get my hands dirty as a software engineer :)
Going to "academic catholic community" 6 years ago was one of the best decisions in my life honestly. We formed a group of closed friends there. Now we celebrate together birthdays, Christmas, etc. These are the people who help you when you are lost in the middle of nowhere (also metaphorically). Interestingly, not all of us are "believers" right now but it does not affect our bonds.
Of course, I met some crazy people in that community but with sufficiently large group you can find good guys and bad guys everywhere. You can find religious groups which don't force you to do anything. They may even value a philosophical questioning and discussion.

Hi! I'm pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Warsaw. I'm looking for a summer internship opportunities, preferably outside Poland. My main interests are web development (mostly backend) and distributed systems in general. I have also experience in game development. When I program, the biggest pleasure give me optimizing stuff and clean code.
That's right. And that is the moment when science has to give place to beliefs. Everyone can have different. Some poeple none at all. For a person who wants to find a bridge between science and religion, this model may be good.
"If we went to Mars and found there a computer, we wouldn't ever say that it popped up by accident. There had to be some creator of it. On the other hand, we have brains, which are much more complex than computers and we deny the existence of some creator."
I heard this anecdote during homily in church and honestly it perfectly describes how I think about God.
"Thus humans do not invent mathematics, but rather discover it, and any other intelligent beings in the universe would presumably do the same."
I pretty sure it's true also for other areas, e.g. engineering. I believe that first vehicles created by some alien civilization would work on a similar principles as ours.
I'm working on an online tool for preparing algorithmic problems.
In my country there is quite large community of so-called "sport programmers" who master solving math/algorithmic puzzles to win competitions or gain rating on platforms like Codeforces. It's a fun way of learning coding, especially if you are into rivalry.
There is also a growing need of creating new tasks. Actual approach is using a command line tools to work with solutions, generating tests and checking correctness. It works but I feel like every time I need to reinvent those methods and repeat same mistakes. It's a tedious process.
I aim to create an SPA with elegant interface which will simplify this process as much as possible. Templates of LaTex statements, input generators, verification pipeline, user accounts, everything in one place! Additionally, I want to put there many guidelines for educational purposes.
I'm really excited about this project, working on it with my younger brother and we already learned a lot. My dream is to finally share this tool with a community ;)
