I solved the multi-computer-to-multi-monitor problem with a Level1Techs KVM[1]. The price (~$500 for the variant I purchased) initially gave me pause, but the longer I've had it, the happier I am with my decision.
It handles all the switching at the hardware level and thus has no perceptible lag for video or anything else. I'm able to connect a single set of peripherals, in my case, two monitors, a keyboard, a trackball, and a USB audio interface, to both my Linux desktop and a CalDigit Thunderbolt dock connected to my laptop. The L1T KVM has hotkeys[2] that let me switch between systems, with only a 1–2 second delay.
The benefit, for me, of this extra box now mounted under my desk is that when I upgrade my monitor, I only care about how good a display it is, not whether there's some perfect confluence of KVM, refresh rate, aspect ratio, display technology, etc. I find the monitor I want and let a separate IO routing layer.
Saw this mentioned at last week's product announcement and it looks compelling! I could see this slimming up my travel tech bag or maybe even it earning a place on my desk depending on the cost of their other "tool cards."
I want both ;D I want profiles to have different partitions of plugins and browser configurations. I want containers to partition my browsing data. I want my Mozilla account to sync my browser history across all my profiles.
i have a similar setup with a PM box and a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro. i provision VMs with a Terraform provider, have a script that processes Terraform outputs into an Ansible inventory INI file to handle configuration. i find it pretty straightforward and could take it further by scripting my VLAN setup but changes so infrequently i don't mind doing it manually.

I've used Pelican and switched to Zola a few years ago. I enjoy being able to generate my site with some plain text files and two easily obtained binaries (zola and tailwindcss).
I find the simpler I keep it, the more likely I'll post.
Steve would have always had the vision and the drive to see it through. My guess is that yes, Jobs would have started a company pretty similar in success to Apple but it probably would have taken him longer.
Knowing that I have my hardware "doing what it says" removes a meaningful amount of mental overhead from the equation. I recently switched to homerow modifiers[0] and it was nice to have that done seamlessly across all of my devices by only having to connect my keyboard.
Having developed upper back pain due to too much desk time, I switched to Logitech's MX Vertical mouse for a few years, along with moving from a typical tenkeyless to an ErgoDox (a F/OSS mechanical keyboard design). This offered relief for the pain in my upper back but a few years later I ended up developing pain in my wrist and forearm. I then move from the MX Vertical to the MX Ergo (thumb trackball) using the included spacers to make it as "vertical" as possible.
These changes, along with a proper desk chair and more awareness of my posture has given many years free of desk related pain.
I would say that fully transitioning to these peripherals did not take any longer than 1-2 weeks. I estimate I was obtained close to 70% of my baseline within a day or two and was close to 100% by the end of week 2. My suggestion is to transition one thing at a time. In my case I transitioned to the split keyboard which I found as harder to transition to compared to either the MX Vertical or MX Ergo.
I am told by various ergo-nerds that the best trackball experience is one use with your index finger, like the Ploopy Classic. I haven't been compelled to switch yet though.
It makes sense to me that Facebook is releasing these models similarly to the way that Google releases Android OS. Google's advertising model benefits from as many people being online as possible and their mobile operating system furthers that aim. Similarly, Facebook's advertising model benefits from having loads of content being generated to then be posted in their various products' feeds.
By no means am I a fan of Zoom and agree browser-based video call platforms are superior but, Google needs to cut the nonsense of treating Firefox (and I guess Safari) as second-class. The only reason I have a de-Googled Chrome on my systems is to use Meet.
