7 years ago we started the 'you are not the product' movement for digital information consumption with Kagi Search. Since then the paradigm shifted from search to agents. Good to see the need for 'you are not the product' still holds up, maybe even more so now: an agent is only worth trusting if it works for you and nobody else. The second an advertiser gets between you and the answer, that's gone. So we're staying on the user-funded side of this. Boring, but it's the whole point.
We'd like to hear more about that - I've been using Orion for the last 6 years and checking Safari every month, cant say Safari ever felt faster than Orion. Must be a specific use case. So if you can be conrete in providing feedback, that would indeed be valuable.
Orion syncs history, natively though iCloud sync. Battery consumption should be on par or better than Safari (because Orion has native ad-clocking). If this isn't the case, it is unusual and worth digging deeper into.
It was a design goal since we started working on it in 2019. (because why not?) It is basically a matter of time and devotion - we invested 7 years of development into it and while still not perfect (this is an incredibly messy problem!) a lot of people enjoy running their favorite extensions, even on iOS, which is truly unique to Orion.
Flag it please, want to think you were unlocky/page added it after inclusion. It is still a manual effort to verify them, mistakes happen. Definetely not intended.
Kagi allows personalization, the difference is you as a user control it. If you used kagi for decade (assuming this is what you used Google for) I am sure the results would be fine tuned to your preference too.
