well the point is value is not being created. the stock market is at an ATH, by all metrics productibity has increased, but ask anyone on the ground- the mood is not as optimisitic as the financial instruments say
i think the doomsday scenario is more likely from someone giving AI access to crucial systems and it accidentally making critical mistakes, rather than it outsmarting the system
anyone can isolate one number to fit their bias. if you look at the wider financing in the industry and the context of multiple AI deals in the billions without any cold hard cash flow or reasoning it kinda makes sense
there is a perception that ultrasound is not as dangerous as xrays (radiation etc). As we find more use-cases for it we need to be aware that the damage caused by blasting organs with energy waves is not negligible.
idk if that would work in real life. there are cases where one sibling gets less than another and judges still rule things have to be split equitably and children should be provided for.
blogging was like a diary, mostly authentic with people just primarily focused on sharing. some with banner ads on the site to get pocket change.
then with substack, social media monetisation, etc everything became income focus. writers got taken over by influencers and content became focused on grabbing attention. didn' take long for readers to leave after that.
